I know you sang that in your head.
The books series that introduced a generation to magic, and was part of a childhood for many. Now, with the original series finished and a new one coming up - I'd like to ignore all the controversy surrounding Harry Potter and just look at the magic system.
The Wizarding World's magic when looked at individually is hard, but overall in the story is quite soft. Wizards are born with innate power that is explained, "genetics". There are a lot of interesting things that Rowling does with magic such a squibs and obscurials - and I would love a textbook for that.
Magic isn't really explained, but how to do it is. We learn that magic is nit-picky, especially the wands. Now, I guess I'll just sit down and wait for the next movie...
